Surviving Motherhood

Life is a total change just as soon as little Emily came into this world. Sleepless nights, weird eating habits, never- ending house chores and much more were injected into our lives.

Thank God for The Hubby, as he has been so patient in handling my super- moody attitude. The baby, as adorable as she is, can take the toll out of my excitement of being a mother. I know, every newbie mothers experience this. Some may get through this like a breeze, while others, well, let's just say it's just depressing.

Surviving motherhood, I am still doing it ever since my mom flew back home 2 weeks during my confinement. I gotta say, the first 2 weeks afterwards without Mom was hard. Really hard especially when I kept on having the feeling of doing it alone. I had to take care of Emily and myself as I still have not completed my confinement period. I remember crying when I still have a heavy flow "period" even at the fourth week. And it is just hard when everyone around keeps on putting pressure on breastfeeding and scolded when I told them that I give my Emily formula every night, for my convenient sake. All accused me of being a lazy arse, when what they didn't know is that there was a night I almost dropped my baby from my lap during breastfeeding. She was only 4 days old. From that moment on, I have decided to just give her with bottle at night. Faster, safer. I am still pumping for stock though.

Thank God I am still Emily's favourite kilang susu instead of the formulas. Hehe.

Emily is now 7 weeks old. Of course there's still some nights where she just robbed our sleep away. Wailing and screaming for apparently no reason. But I guess The Hubby and I are getting better at handling her. By the way, she can see and smile for us already! So happy.

ya, still have a long way to go before I get back to my pre- pregnancy body. Am doing lots of dancing and house chores at home to burn all that baby fat!

OK la.. time for her to change into pyjamas. Happy Weekend you all!!

Thrown to hell and back again....

Can you believe that I actually got hospitalised last Sunday? And my wedding blessing/reception ceremony is going to be held this Saturday. I, Deedee, just got out of hospital at 11.30am TODAY, which is 3 days before my big day. Everyone were freaking out. My family, The Hubby family, my guests. My panic started when doctors told me that I were to be admitted...

Sunday July 25th~ my sister(she's 5 years younger than me), sent me to A&E department at Sibu Hospital last Sunday after I complaint of blurry vision and abdominal pain. Initially, they suspected that I have a dengue fever, but after the blood sample analysis result was out, it turned out to be negative. Phewwww....

However, my urine test was not on my favour. Apparently it showed symptoms of bladder problem, and thus they had to detain me in hospital for further observation.. I was really freaking out, since the wedding is really around the corner. Never in my mind that I felt that I'm going to be admitted because I thought it was a severe fever. Thought it's going to be a ambik-ubat-then-leave kind of thing..

They put me in bed Z3 at Third Class Female Medical Ward. Sister had to rush back home and get my stuff. I was in great pain, the worst condition I ever had. They diagnosed me as having UTI. bad one. IV drip was attached to me non stop. And I hate it the most when they put antibiotic drips into my body. Painful like hell. The nurses were friendly though. They calmed me down, and said everything's gonna be alright. Didn't really manage to sleep well because they kept waking me up every 2 hours for my medication. Plus, the ward, it's super humid. And crowdy..

Day 2~ They moved me into Class Two ward when they knew that I'm a Ministry of Health staff, with qualified post to move into Class One ward even. But apparently Class One rooms were full with chemo patients. The day was still a torture to me. But it turned better when a Catholic priest came to say some prayers to me.. It was a soothe in soul.

(To be continued.. too busy to finish this entry)

Continued... August 16, 2010)

Day 3~ The elderly patient( I call her MakCik) who shared the same room with me received a discharge from ward word from doctors who came to do early morning errands(it was as early as 6am!). I asked the doctor about my situation, but he said he still has to detain me for at least another 3 days, minimum. My heart sank. MakCik's families surrounded her, and were happy to know about her being discharged. I smiled when they gave me some kuih, as a celebration. But after a while, I went into the bathroom, tears streaming down my face, and started to call mom. Mom consoled me with some comforting words, but it just wasn't good enough.

A doctor approached and told me that I were to be transfered to another ward, the O&G ward. This time it's the First Class Ward. woo hoo! Later that evening, some of my friends and colleagues came and hung out with me at the ward, remedying my sad soul. Drips of medication still attached at my arms. To worsen things up, they had to insert yet another injection hole to allow another medication IV drip, since the one attached currently had my vein swollen and blocked. Damn.

Day 4~ Happiest Day of my life!!!!(well, almost.. nothing beats The Proposal moment) A group of doctor led by one young Chinese doctor came to do morning visitation. I kinda begged him to release me from hospital, since due to go back to Kuching for my wedding. He pitied me, but made me promised to eat my medication on time. Wooooooo hoo!! And I have to come back for my follow up early November.

I packed my stuff, little Sister helped a lot. Took my medication from ward pharmacy, and off we went. You have no idea how relieved I was to be back home. My parents called telling me to let my sister drive the 6 hours journey back home.. The Hubby called saying that he's relieved and eager to see me . Friends called saying they love me and good to know that I'm back in track..I felt so blessed at that time to have been surrounding by endless love..

HAH! What a detour of a wedding planning.... fuh!! Like I told The Hubby when we met each other the day after I was discharged from hospital, I've really been thrown to Hell and back again..

*Speechless moment*

The Hubby lost his catholic baptism certificate! As well as his confirmation cert!!!

Without them, we can't get married in church...

Uuu uuuu, did I mention that his birth cert might be in the lost file folder where he kept the other two?
.
.
.
.
.
*speechless*
.
.
.
.
.
What if that vital file folder was inside the bag which was stolen by one stupid jackass when he broke The Hubby's car window and took it??
.
.
.
.
.
And it is less than 40 days to the church holy matrimony.

.*speechless again*

.Is it okay for me to be stressed up now? like super stress??
